Georgia hotels are making big impressions.
In fact, U.S. News & World Report named The Lodge at Sea Island, on St. Simons Island, the best hotel in the country in its 2016 rankings.
But this beach-lover’s paradise isn’t Georgia’s only noteable hotel.
Below is a list of the top five places to stay on a Georgia vacation, according to U.S. News' rankings.
Erin Shields, travel editor for U.S. News, said rankings are based on various research measures including reviews by guests as well as awards given by industry leaders such as the prestigious AAA Five Diamond Award.
The Lodge at Sea Island. Located at 100 Cloister Drive on St. Simons Island. This resort stands as the perfect get-away for golfers who also happen to enjoy Saint Simon's beaches. U.S. News's 2016 ranking is actually the second time that the Lodge has been so-honored by the organization.
It has also won the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards since 2001, according to its website. (Contributed by The Lodge at Sea Island)
The Cloister at Sea Island. Located at 100 Cloister Drive on Sea Island. The Lodge's next-door neighbor is the second best Georgia hotel. The St. Regis Atlanta. Located at 88 West Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta. The St. Regis offers a AAA Five Diamond luxury resort experience in town. St. Regis Butler Service is offered in each of its 31 of its suites, according to its website. (Contributed by St. Regis Atlanta)

The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead. Located at 3434 Peachtree Road in northeast Atlanta. The Ritz-Carlton offers panoramic views of the Buckhead community in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
