A whale shark (left) and silky shark are part of the Sea Monsters exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium uses the same "plastination" technique familiar to those who've seen preserved human bodies in the "Bodies" exhibit to create detailed, partially-dissected sea creatures. A whale shark, angler fish, deep-sea squids and even a penguin are seen in various states of disassembly, in a tableau that is informative and sometimes disturbing. The exhibit opens Oct. 2 and will be on display for a year.
