While wine sales may be up amid the pandemic, large-scale group gatherings are still on hold. Therefore, the annual Savannah Food & Wine Festival will not happen this year.

The event was set to take place Nov. 9-15, but will be on pause until 2021, the festival announced Friday.

“With so many future unknowns for the rest of this year, we have chosen to err on the side of caution and focus efforts on producing another world-renowned event in 2021,” an Instagram post reads. “Please continue to follow along with us here on our social platforms for updates regarding all of the celebrity chefs and winemakers, connoisseur dinners, one-of-a-kind culinary, spirits and wine experiences to come.”

For now, the event has been postponed until Nov. 8-14, 2021. Those who already purchased tickets to this year’s event can choose to get a refund or use the ticket for next year’s festivities.

Ticket holders who choose to hang on to their tickets until next year will receive 20% off additional tickets for the 2021 festival.

“As always, all Savannah Food & Wine Festival events are capacity capped and many events sell out quickly. 2020 ticket holders will be guaranteed 2021 tickets should they choose to credit their ticket to 2021,” according to the post.
