Top 40 station Power 96.1 is bringing back its annual Jingle Ball at State Farm Arena Dec. 16 featuring major A-list pop acts.
This year, the big-name acts are Jonas Brothers, Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion. The Jonas Brothers and Megan Thee Stallion just performed last month at Music Midtown.
The relative “old-time” act is the Black Eyed Peas, who haven’t performed in Atlanta for more than a decade, the last time at State Farm’s predecessor Philips Arena in 2010.
Other acts scheduled to appear are Tate McRae, Monsta X, Bazzi, Dixie D’Amelio and Tai Verdes.
The concert was nixed last year due to the pandemic.
This is part of the iHeart Radio holiday tour, which has been running for years with lineups varying depending on the city. Other comparable Jingle Balls will be held in Dallas-Fort Worth; Los Angeles; Minneapolis-St. Paul; Philadelphia; New York; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Atlanta and Miami-Fort Lauderdale.
As is typical, there’s a pre-sale for Capital One cardholders beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. and ending Thursday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. or while supplies last. Tickets will be available at www.iHeartRadio.com/CapitalOne. All other tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Oct. 8, at noon and will be available at www.iHeartRadio.com/JingleBall or ticketmaster.com.
Over the past years, the Jingle Ball has featured the likes of Justin Bieber (2012), Miley Cyrus (2013), Fall Out Boy (2014), Bieber again (2015), Ariana Grande (2016), Demi Lovato (2017), Shawn Mendes (2018) and Khalid (2019). The Jonas Brothers also appeared in 2019.
Power, formerly a rock station, became a top 40 station in 2012 in part so iHeartRadio could route its concert tour to a top 10 market like Atlanta. The station, though it usually lags behind B98.5 and Q99.7, remains a solid ratings performer even after it revamped its on-air lineup earlier this year and brought in the syndicated morning Jubal Show.
A dollar of each ticket will go to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring today’s youth through entertainment and education-focused initiatives and runs Seacrest Studios in children’s hospitals nationwide including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Seacrest is a 1993 Dunwoody High School graduate who is now heard on Power from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. via syndication.
