Is this luxurious cave the world’s most unique vacation rental?

What is a salt therapy cave?

Welcome to The Cave. Built into a natural recess on Dunlap Hollow, this vacation rental sleeps six people across two bedrooms. It’s 1,500 square feet of custom designed space, built for comfort. Pricing starts at $600 a night.

Ohio’s Dunlap Hollow offeres cliffs, caves, a seasonal waterfall and a jaw-dropping overlook for hikers to enjoy. Those trails range from a brisk quarter mile trek through the local Crescent Cave to a 60-minute hike across the property’s overlook, which totals 0.8 miles.

“With plenty of natural light, decadent decor, and luxurious amenities, the Dunlap Hollow Cave is the one-of-a-kind stay that you’ve been looking for in Hocking Hills, OH,” the property’s online listing said. “This 1500 square foot cave house sleeps six with two bedrooms, each with a king bed, with two additional twin beds in one of the bedrooms. It has a full-service kitchen, large outdoor patio, pool table, private hiking trails, and more!”

The Cave is a short drive from Logan and Lancaster, two towns with plenty to offer those not interested in taking to the local trails.

“You’ll find different restaurants and grocery stores available in Logan, Ohio, one of the nearest towns,” the listing said. “Logan is about 15 minutes away from Dunlap Hollow.

“If you’re interested in exploring a quaint small town, with restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and more, we encourage you to check out Lancaster. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Dunlap Hollow.”

In the end, it’s the home’s natural beauty and interior design that makes it worth a visit. The home was custom designed by the owners, Bryant and Amy Gingerich. The interior design was completed by Renee Byler with Burrow Creative.
