If a historical touch is what you’re after, then look no further than the craftsman-style home.

These dwellings became popular in the late 1800s and Better Homes & Gardens reported they’re known for their custom details and charming simplicity.

Grant Marani, a partner at New York’s Robert A.M. Stern Architects, told House Beautiful craftsmen homes “showcase hand-worked local materials with decorative elements such as brackets, lintels, and rafters,” Grant says, “and display an artisanal approach to surface decoration.”

The style is popular in Atlanta, with Redfin reporting they often sell above list price. Here are a few craftsmen homes that have recently hit the market.
