Billboard Music Award winner Bebe Rexha collapsed on stage Sunday after an audience member threw a cellphone and hit her in the left eye.

Bebe Rexha shimmered on stage in a purple ensemble at New York’s Pier 17 as she belted her heart out. But as she walked towards the front of the stage, 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna of New Jersey decided it was the perfect time to throw his phone at the songstress.

The phone struck Rexha, requiring stitches and leaving the singer with a black eye. She posted on Instagram not long after to let her fans know she was “all good.”

According to BBC News, Malvagna “was charged on Monday with two counts of assault in the three degree, one count of harassment in the second degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and one count of attempted assault in the third degree.”

When questioned by police, Malvagna confessed to the crime and said, “I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”

Rexha is one of many celebrities who’ve experienced items being thrown at them on stage. Kid Cudi walked off stage at the Rolling Loud festival after people threw items at him. Justin Bieber was hit in the face with a bag of Sour Patch Kids and a t-shirt and Ariana Grande was hit with a lemon while performing at Coachella.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
