Kevin Ford, a 54-year-old veteran, has never missed a day of work during his 27 years on the job at Burger King. To show its appreciation, Burger King gave him a goodie bag.

But after Ford posted a video thanking his employer to Instagram, the Internet decided he deserved something more for his years of service.

In his video, Ford thanked his employer for the thoughtful goodie bag, which contained a Starbucks tumbler, Lifesaver and other items. Managers at the location where Ford worked also gave him a slice of chocolate cake. The internet however, wasn’t happy with how Ford’s commitment was recognized.

“Did they really only give him ONE movie ticket tho??” one person wrote on the TikTok version of the video.

As outrage spread online, Ford’s daughter, Seryna Ford, created a GoFundMe account for her father.

“My name is Seryna. The man in that video is my father. He has worked at his job for 27 years and yes he has never missed a day of work,” she wrote in a GoFundMe “My dad continues to work here, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement. In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money but if anyone feels like blessing him he would love to visit his grandchildren.”

To date, the GoFundMe has reached $254,122.
