Sherly Lee Ralph’s latest interview has gone viral and prompted a lawsuit threat from former TV judge Joe Brown.
In an interview with radio host Angela Yee, the “Abbott Elementary” star dished out details fromo her upcoming book “Diva 2.0: 12 Life Lessons from Me for You!” The book will detail Ralph’s life in the entertainment industry, her work in the Me Too Movement, and her brushes with celebrities like Beyonce and Jay Z.
Towards the end of the interview, Ralph was asked about her most challenging experiences in show business. Ralph’s answer involved an encounter with an unnamed TV judge during her time on UPN’s hit show “Moesha.”
“I’m at a very public place,” Ralph said. “I was suited — had my suit on handling my business — he and I were on the same network. This man grabbed me by the back of my neck, turned me around and rammed his nasty tongue down my throat.”
Ralph said everyone from the network saw what happened but did nothing. New Orleans mayor Marc Morial was also at the event and asked Ralph if she wanted to “make a phone call and have him handled.”
While the mayor stood up for her, the network asked Ralph not to do anything about it because they didn’t “want the bad press around their shows.”
While the Emmy Award winner didn’t named the culprit, Judge Joe Brown quickly came forward — with a threat to sue Ralph for defamation.
“There’re false rumors being spread that I mistreated a certain lady [about] 25 yrs ago,” Brown, 75, posted on Twitter.
