Over the weekend, “Post to Be” singer Omarion took to TikTok with a series of PSA’s for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”, to address rumors and reiterate that he is an entertainer and not in fact a COVID-19 variant.

Since the omicron variant of COVID-19 surfaced in the U.S., popular memes have linked the R&B singer to the virus.

“Hi everybody, this is Omarion,” he said in one of the videos. “I am an artist, not a variant. So please be aware that if you just so happen to run into me on the street, you don’t have to isolate for five days, nor do you have to have a negative test result in order to dance to my music. So please, be safe, be healthy, happy new year.”

The videos combined have amassed nearly five million views on TikTok.

Omarion’s comments come just a week after “Atlanta” star LaKeith Stanfield took to Instagram to share a direct message he sent to the former B2K frontman about ruining everyone’s holiday.

“You ruining Christmas for everybody smh,” Stanfield wrote to Omarion. He playfully captioned his message, “I’m weak I wonder if he’s gunna respond.”
