The 84th year of the North Georgia State Fair sets up at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta on September 22, 2016, kicking off two weeks of family-friendly fun during which over 300,000 people will visit the fairgrounds.
Festival Dates: Sept. 22-Oct. 2, 2016
Festival Hours: Monday-Thursday 4 to 11 p.m., Fridays 4 p.m. to midnight Saturdays 10 a.m., to midnight and Sundays 12:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Location
This year's fair will be held at Jim R. Miller Park (2245 Callaway Road S.W., Marietta, Ga.). If you're taking the highway to get there, festival grounds are most easily reached from Exit 260 on I-75 (Windy Hill Road).
Parking
There is abundant parking at Jim R. Miller Park for fairgoers. Parking costs $3 per vehicle, cash only.
Traffic Impact
Cobb County residents and visitors can expect that Callaway Road, Al Bishop Drive and Windy Hill Road/Macland Road Connector will see a significant increase in traffic over the two weeks of the fair with the most disruption following the concerts as the crowd tries to exit all at the same time.
Food
Get your fill of funnel cakes, hot dogs, and fried delights from numerous vendors throughout the fairgrounds.
Music
This year the fair's covered arena will welcome country music and contemporary Christian musical acts including:
- September 23 - Audio Adrenaline with 7Eventh Time Down
- September 24 - Granger Smith
- September 28 - Scotty McCreery with Zach Seabaugh
- September 29 - Frankie Ballard
- September 30 - Colt Ford
- October 1 - Jana Kramer
All concerts begin at 8 p.m. Concerts FREE with fair admission.
For the Kids
Almost all the fair is kid-friendly, depending on their ride tolerance. Returning attractions sure to delight children and adults of all ages are the racing pigs and paddling porkers, sea lion splash, petting barn, "Master of the Chainsaw" and Carnival Midway. Kids will not want to miss the Oscar the Robot, because he's a robot.
New for 2016
This year sees three new biggies added to the North Georgia State Fair: K-9's in Flight, doggies doing amazing things; Lady Houdini, an escape artist; and Peter Hart with Atlanta Puppets, marionettes and other puppets guided by a puppet master.
Payment Options
Cash is king. Some vendors may accept credit cards but don't count on it.
Tickets
Admission is $7.00 per person. Children 10 and under receive free admission. Ride tickets are $1.25 each, $20.00 for 21 tickets, $50.00 for 55 tickets and $100 for 120 tickets. All rides require more than two tickets.

Want great seats for the concerts? Be sure to arrive early and plan on relaxing for a while waiting for the show to start.
