This autumn Atlanta's attractions are bringing new exhibits, parties, concerts and sports events to the city. Here's what you need to be on the lookout for:

Concerts

In August, Luke Bryan and Mötley Crue will play Philips Arena while Shaggy, Meghan Trainor, Brandon Flowers take the stage down the street at The Tabernacle. At Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, the Alabama Shakes, YES, Toto, O.A.R. perform during the month.

Audiences then welcome hitmakers Ed Sheeran and Marc Anthony and Carlos Vives when they play Philips Arena and Three Days Grace, Nick Jonas, and "Charli and Jack Do America" featuring Charli XCX & Bleachers play The Tabernacle in September. On Septmeber 19, The Bull's Big Country Fan Jam comes to Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre featuring Dierks Bentley, Kip Moore, Canaan Smith and Maddie & Tae. Then the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra resturns to the amphitheatre for A Salute to American Classics on September 27.

Taylor Swift will play The Georgia Dome on October 24 but before she performs, Ricky Martin will play Philips Arena. Earlier in the month, Collective Soul, Warren Haynes, KORN and Zedd will play The Tabernacle. October 4, Foo Fighters will take the stage at Centennial Olympic Park for an outdoor show featuring Gary Clark Jr.

Sports

MLS isn't here yet but you can get your soccer fix seeing the Atlanta Silverbacks take the field weekly through Halloween.

The Hawks season doesn't start until later in the year but you can see dribbling, dunking and passing on the court through September when the Dream play at Philips Arena.

Matt Ryan, Roddy White and Julio Jones take the field for the 2015 season starting August 14 when the Falcons take on the Tennessee Titans. The final preseason game of the year is September 3 at The Georgia Dome when the Ravens come to town. During the regular season, the Eagles, Texans, Cowboys, Redskins, Buccaneers, Colts, Vikings, Panthers and Saints all take on the Falcons in Atlanta.

Hockey season in Atlanta kicks off October 16 as the Gwinnett Gladiators head to Florida for a three-game series. They're back in town the following weekend to kick off the home season, which runs through April 2016.

Museums

Two special exhibits open at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History on September 26 -- Searching for the Queen of Sheba and Women of Vision. They also have kid-friendly themed celebrations like their annual Dinosaur Birthday Bash and Fernbank Boo-Seum Trick o Treat on their calendar.

The High Museum of Art welcomes two new exhibits this autumn. American Encounters: The Simple Pleasures of Still Life will feature works showcasing U.S. artists takes on European style of still-life painting during its display beginning September 26. Treasures of the Hapsburg Dynasty are set to go on display beginning October 18 when Habsburg Splendor: Masterpieces from Vienna's Imperial Collections opens.

In addition to its kid-friendly robotics and Minecraft classes, Midtown's Museum of Design Atlanta has adult-centric events on this calendar this autumn including Drink in Design: Lego and Local Brew and Design Nerd Trivia Night.

Near Emory University, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Museum is featuring an exhibit that aims to tell the story of the plight refugees and immigrants face when it comes to health-related issues. Resettling in America: Georgia's Refugee Communities will be on display through December 31.

Animal Attractions

Georgia Aquarium has something for everyone this fall! Their unique date night experience, Sips Under the Sea has dates set for August and October while Toddler Time returns in October. They'll also host International Whale Shark Day fun on August 29 and special events for Dragon Con and Atlanta Pride goers during each event.

Up in Roswell, the Chattahoochee Nature Center will be offering their summer special events schedule through September with Sunset Sips and Concerts on the River. Their annual Halloween Hikes are also already on the calendar for the last weeks of October.

Theater

Actor's Express goes to the birds this autumn with two productions, Stupid F*cking Bird (September 12- October 11), and The Thrush & the Woodpecker (October 31- November 15).

Theatrical Outfit and the Aurora Theatre are teaming up to present their co-production of Tony winning show Memphis at the Rialto Center for the Arts September 10- 20. If you can't wait until then to see it, head to the Aurora Theatre where it's playing through August 30.

The Alliance Theatre presents One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Tiger Style!, A Steady Rain and Tell Me My Dream this autumn while their children's branch, Theatre for the Very Young, takes on Blub, Blub and Play the Play with Cat the Cat.

National tours of musical powerhouse productions Motown: The Musical and Jersey Boys will take The Fox Theatre stage this autumn as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta series.
