If it was up to us, we'd be eating ramen all day, every day. But when a steaming bowl of broth and noodles isn't readily available, watching other people eating ramen isn't a bad substitute.

The Consulate General of Japan is giving you the opportunity to do just that -- for free -- this Saturday at SCADShow Performing Arts Theater at 173 14th St NE in Atlanta. Catch "The Ramen Girl," starring Brittany Murphy as a woman who finds solace in a ramen shop after being abandoned by her boyfriend in Tokyo; at 1 p.m. and "The Ramen Samurai," about a man who learns the art of ramen-making after the death of his father, at 4 p.m.

Admission to each film is free, but RSVP is required for each screening. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis. Email bryan.sagliano@aa.mofa.go.jp to respond. For more information, visit www.atlanta.us.emb-japan.go.jp/.
