From Pokemon trainers to Dr. Seuss fans, this weekend in North Fulton offers the perfect combination of kid adventures and adventures for the adult kids.
These four events entail all that variety:
1. Avalon Nights Live: Head over to Avalon every Friday through October 28 for a free concert. This Friday, July 29 unwind to the musical stylings of the Carter Rude Band from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in The Plaza, 2200 Avalon Blvd.
2. Seussical the Musical: Grab the kids and head over to the ACT1 Theater and get transported to the Whoville universe.
Performances of Seussical the Musical will run weekends until August 7. Catch this whimsical musical this weekend from 8- 10 p.m. Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30. Performances run from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 31.
Tickets cost $20 for adults, $17 for children ages 12 and under and $17 for people over age 60. The ACT1 Theater is located at 180 Academy Street at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church.
3. Conservation Series Canoe Trip: Don't miss your chance to learn about river conservation and how you can make a difference. Discover plants and animals while guides working to conserve the river lead you through a 3-mile loop through the backwaters of Bull Sluice Lake.
The Chattahoochee Nature Center provides all equipment for participants. Participants must be at least 6 years old. The price of the trip is $30 for the general public and $25 for CNC members. Register and check for availability online.
The trip starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
4. "Pokemon Go" Battle & Brew Meetup: Calling all Pokemon Trainers: enjoy Pokemon-themed drinks and battle with fellow Pokemon trainers at this meetup hosted by Battle & Brew.
Battle & Brew is a “Pokemon Go” gym and there are 4 pokestops located in the shopping center. Team Pokemon-themed shots will be available and bar lights will change to match the gym leaders.
Make sure to show-off your fresh Pokemon tattoos, because there will be a 15 percent discount for those who participated in the Empyrean Tattoo "Pokemon Go" day the day before.
Pokemon Go Atlanta will also be hosting a team raffle for the team with the most donations at the end of the night. Winners of the cosplay contest can also win a prize.
The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday, July 31. Battle & Brew is located at 5920 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. You must be at least 18-years-old to enter the bar after 5 p.m.
