4 things to do in Atlanta today: Karaoke at Clermont Lounge

More historical notes from that landmark-status application: The first floor space (think basement) was first used as a restaurant, but settled into its familiar role as a nightclub by the late 1940s. The club changed names many times but eventually became the Clermont Lounge in 1965. Today's Clermont Lounge, by the way, is a tenant of the hotel and thus a separate entity under the same roof. Four things to do around Atlanta on Tuesday, Dec. 1:

1. FEATURED
Karaoke will never sound, or look, the same again at the Clermont Lounge. You'll feel like a star on the rise as the girls dance to your version of "Remix to Ignition." [What else is on the docket this week in Atlanta? We've got your back.]

2. FREE & CHEAP
Two words: free beer. Star Community Bar's weekly Shut Up and Dance 80's party will be serving up free brews from 10 p.m. until midnight. [Never fear, there is even more free and cheap beer in your future.]

3. FOOD
Every Tuesday is a Tasting Tuesday at The Cockentrice in Krog Street Market. Order the five-course chef's tasting menu, available for $35 per person. [This is only one of many dining deals you can find nearby this Tuesday.]

4. FAMILY-FRIENDLY
Enjoy one of the many family-friendly shows opening this month.
