In just a few days, you can begin to start anew. Live your calling. And, if Oprah Winfrey has her way, create the life you want.
Starting here Sept. 5 in Atlanta, the former daytime talk-show host, who specialized in inspiration and enlightenment, and a slate of special guests will headline another arena tour aimed at helping you reach your full potential.
“Oprah’s the Life You Want Weekend” is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at Philips Arena and is intended to spotlight Winfrey’s philosophy on having your best life.
“It’s a mother, daughter, sister, friend celebration, along with a few cool men,” Winfrey said through her public relations firm. “Every moment of these two days is designed to bring you closer to the life you want.”
The tour will span eight cities, and each event will last two days with Winfrey scheduled to take the stage on Friday nights, when she will bring her personal story and offer insights to life in an intimate evening. Then on Saturdays, the former talk-show host will lead a daylong gathering of thousands with handpicked thought leaders and pop culture icons including Iyanla Vanzant, star of OWN’s hit series “Iyanla Fix My Life,” regular O Magazine contributor, best-selling author and spiritual life coach; the best-selling author of “Eat Pray Love,” Elizabeth Gilbert; and one of Time 100’s Most Influential people, Pastor Rob Bell.
World-renowned author and pioneer in mind-body medicine Deepak Chopra also will share his brand of wisdom in select cities.
Other highlights include O-Town, a pop-up interactive town square near the arena where ticket holders can enjoy activities and entertainment and connect with one another and inspiring entrepreneurs.
It's not too late to nominate a woman whom you consider a hero in your community and is deserving of the Standing Ovation award. Maybe she started a day care for disabled children or stood up for someone who had no voice.
The winners will be announced on Sept. 6.
Other cities on the tour include Auburn Hills, Mich. (Sept. 12-13), Washington, D.C. (Sept. 19-20), Newark, N.J. (Sept. 26-27), Houston (Oct. 17-18), Miami (Oct. 24-25), Seattle (Nov. 7-8) and San Jose, Calif. (Nov. 14-15).
