The Tams

Whether you’re young, foolish or just happy, this is your chance to see a legendary group in concert. Sandy Springs is presenting free concerts throughout the summer, and the Tams will be there July 12. Gates will open at 5 p.m. so attendees can come early and picnic before the show. Food trucks and adult beverages will be available. At 7 p.m., the Tams will showcase their classic sound — a mix of beach music, R&B and soul — with hits from the past 50 years.

Ghost tours

Cool off this weekend by sending a shiver down your spine. The after-dark ghost tours of downtown Lawrenceville are sure to give you goose bumps. The walking excursions begin and end in front of the Aurora Theatre. From there, attendees follow costumed guides who recount hair-raising tales of the dead walking the streets, strange and recent events that occurred in local businesses, and eerie experiences in the Old Jail. The tour lasts 90 minutes, and advanced tickets are recommended.

SMYRNA

Faithless Town

Unwind in Smyrna to the sweet sounds of the city’s summer concert series. This free musical event July 11 will feature Faithless Town, a local group that specializes in the best of American rock ’n’ roll. The band has played at some of Atlanta’s top venues alongside groups such as Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ and Manchester Orchestra. Their first single, “Ghosts of My Hometown,” won American Songwriter Magazine’s lyric contest. The city is committed to making the series a litter-free event, so be sure to use the recycling bins throughout the park.
