“A Christmas Survival Guide”

If the holiday season has you stressing, this might be a good time to heed the advice from Art Station’s “A Christmas Survival Guide.” This musical revue takes on the difficulties of December as the characters navigate the madness of the holidays and search for the true spirit of Christmas. Songs range from well-known classics such as “O Holy Night” to updated versions of favorites (“The Twelve Steps of Christmas”). This is the last weekend for the show — just when we need it most!

Christmas Light Show

Pettit Creek Farms in Cartersville holds its annual holiday light extravaganza. Drive through the countryside and take in numerous displays that will put any neighborhood light enthusiast to shame. But you don’t have to be a distracted driver: Relax with a hayride that lets you focus all your attention on the displays. Either option includes admission to the farm’s other attractions, including reindeer, a live nativity and a visit with Santa. Hot drinks and s’mores are available, and the farm is wheelchair-accessible.

Christmas Royal Tea and Grand Yuletide Ball

Have a child who just longs to be a prince or princess? Then roll out the royal treatment for them at the Strand Theatre. Prince Goodtidings and Princess Joy will be on hand to greet guests for a banquet of teas, juices and sweet treats. After tea, the prince and princess will pass out goody bags and teach the tykes some simple dances so all can partake in the Grand Yuletide Ball. Since they will be in the presence of royalty, children are encouraged to dress up for the occasion. The tea and ball last about 90 minutes.
