500th Anniversary Reformation Concert
Eight Atlanta churches are staging one mega concert in celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, hosted by Peachtree Road United Methodist. The church’s choir will be joined by singers from seven metro area Presbyterian churches to create a chorus of more than 200 voices. Orchestras, organists and conductors from the participating churches will also join in on five selections, ranging from “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing” to “The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune.” It all begins with Bach as the program opens with his Cantata #80, “Ein Feste Burg.”

Fall Jonquil Festival
Smyrna – “the Jonquil City” – is hosting is annual Jonquil Festival featuring all sorts of fall fun. Artisans from across the Southeast will sell their wares at more than 175 booths featuring crafts, clothing, jewelry and more. They’ll be joined by booths from local area nonprofits, the Smyrna Library and a spot to buy your own jonquil bulbs. If you’re bringing the kiddos, arrive early Saturday to take part in the children’s costume parade featuring best costume prizes. Later in the day, check out kids’ activities from sand art to inflatables, and see puppeteer Peter Hart’s unique marionette performance. Top off the day with all your favorite festival foods – candied apples, corn dogs, polish sausages, cotton candy and plenty of barbecue – then stick around for singer J. Scott Thompson.

Festival del Día de los Muertos
Gwinnett’s Aurora Theatre celebrates metro Atlanta’s Latin and Hispanic communities through its Teatro Aurora programming. Cue this year’s Festival del Día de los Muertos on Oct. 29 as a chance to enjoy all things surrounding the famed Mexican Day of the Dead. See Spanish language performances (with English supertitles), including storytelling, mariachi musicians and folk dances. While you watch, dine on a variety of Mexican delicacies. The event will be held at Georgia Gwinnett College.
