Ghost Tours

Experience the unexplained, be a little paranoid about the paranormal and savor the spooky this weekend in Lawrenceville by taking a ghost tour. Hosted by professional storytellers from the Aurora Theatre, the tour tells tales of how the dead once walked the streets of the city and how local businesses have experienced more than a few eerie events. Centered on the town square, the 90-minute walk weaves Lawrenceville’s past with recent paranormal investigations and will leave you wondering if it’s just the chilly weather making you shiver.

Avalon Restaurant Week

With all the restaurants popping up at Avalon, Alpharetta has more than a few new noshes to showcase. But being a foodie doesn’t have to mean mortgaging the house for meals. This weekend is the end of Avalon’s restaurant week, when restaurants will offer menu samplings at fixed prices ranging from $15 to $35. Among the participating eateries are Antico Pizza, Bantam+Biddy, Oak Steakhouse, Cru Food & Wine Bar and Bocado Burger. But before you dine, pick up a tour card from the concierge desk. After visiting three participating restaurants and getting a stamp at each, you’ll be entered into the contest for a prize package.

MARIETTA

Art of Wine Expo

Take a break from whining about politics and opt for the real wine. More than 200 varieties will be poured at the Marietta Wine Market’s 10th annual Art of Wine expo. In between sips, learn about wine regions, listen to live music, pick up works by local artists and sample an array of food. Only 250 tickets are available, so call ahead to ensure your spot.
