STOCKBRIDGE

Indoor archery

Release your inner Katniss Everdeen, Princess Merida, superhero Hawkeye or whichever archer you hide inside at a bow-and-arrow class this weekend. Panola Mountain State Park’s indoor range is the setting for a class geared toward sharp-eyed shooters older than 9, regardless of experience. If you do have a bit of expertise and just want to hone your skills, you’re also welcome to join. All equipment is provided, so leave your Adamantium arrows and Nerf darts at home. Note: The class begins at the Nature Center and not the archery range. Register in advance by calling the Nature Center at the park. Admission is $15 per person, and there is also a $5 state park parking fee per car.

1-3 p.m. July 8. $15. Panola Mountain State Park, 2620 Highway 155, Stockbridge. 770-389-7801, gastateparks.org/panolamountain.

ACWORTH

Inflatable water slide

At Acworth’s Dallas Landing Park, keeping cool is not just easy, it’s exhilarating. Take a plunge down what the city is calling “the world’s largest inflatable water slide.” The giant blow-up stands 36 feet tall and is 175 feet long. One ride down costs $4, but one-hour passes are also available for as many thrills as you can squeeze in. If that hour of sliding and splashing goes by too quickly, pick up an all-day pass for $16. (All prices are per person, and that person must be at least 42 inches tall.) Whichever you choose, it’s easy to make a day of it with the park’s picnic tables, grills and sandy waterfront. A $5 parking fee applies for all non-Acworth residents. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. July 7; 11 a.m.-6 p.m. July 8-9. $4-$16. Dallas Landing Park, 5120 Allatoona Drive, Acworth. 404-406-6996, acworthslide.com.
