Here is a short list of a few fantastic events happening in Dekalb County this September.
1. Emerging Voices Family Storytelling: Father Goose Brigade
Callenwolde Fine Arts Center
September 18, 7pm-9pm
Celebrate the power of storytelling as Callanwolde showcases the South's best stories, storytellers and storytelling traditions. The September show features the Southern Order of Storytellers' Father Goose Brigade. The Brigade includes some of Atlanta's renowned storytelling talents. For audiences of all ages. Beer, wine and sodas will be available for purchase.
Tickets are sold at the door, cash or check only.
$5 General Admission, $1 Admission for children, 50% off admission for Members.
2. Tunes by the Tracks
Stone Mountain Village
September 25, 7pm-9pm
Featuring Scott Little on 9/25, Tunes by the Tracks is a free concert series held each Friday night in September and October in Stone Mountain Village. Concerts will be held in the Municipal Parking lot and will feature a number of well-known artists. The concerts are free, and beer and wine will be available for sale.
3. Atlanta Greek Festival

4. Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival
Stone Mountain Park
September 25-27
Take in all of the splendor that autumn provides with attractions, fun-filled games, shows and more. Join Spookley the Square Pumpkin and lift his friends into the air for a Dance-A-Long Party Parade that dances through Crossroads, and then meet him at Spookley's Pumpkin Patch Meet & Greet .Get the entire family into the spirit with fall décor and special attractions at The Great Pumpkin Junction. Plus, enjoy all of your favorite Stone Mountain Park attractions during Pumpkin Festival.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History
September 19, 8:30 am – 11am
Join an Atlanta Audubon Society volunteer and discover more about the feathered inhabitants of Fernbank Forest, both permanent residents and fall visitors. This program is excellent for beginning birders or those desiring gentle terrain. All ages are welcome.
Cost is included with Museum admission and free for Fernbank members and Atlanta Audubon Society members. Advance reservations are required by phone at 404.929.6400.
6. Concerts on the Square
The Square in Downtown Decatur, Georgia

7. YEA! An Art Event for Young Emerging Artists
The Square in Downtown Decatur, Georgia
September 26, 12pm-4 pm
Returning for its third year, this wildly popular one-day arts event is for students in grades K-12 who want to develop and sell their own creative work. This event will showcase the work of young visual and performing artists, with some work available for purchase. Sponsored by The Decatur Arts Alliance, the event will also feature a performance stage of bands or solo acts for students in grades K-12. Free and open to the public.
8. Looking for Normal
OnStage Atlanta Theatre Company
September 20, 3pm – 5pm
The Process Theatre presents Looking for Normal by Jane Anderson. Roy and Irma have been married for twenty five years. They have two children. They live in the heartland. They're respected members of their church and their community. When Roy and Irma go to their pastor for marriage counseling, Roy confesses that he's a woman trapped in a man's body and would like to have a sex change. The play explores the complexities of marriage, family and deconstructs the very notion of love.

9.The Laughing Skull Presents: The Best of Atlanta Comedy
Eddie's Attic
September 24, 9pm
Atlanta's comedy scene is one of the strongest in the country with several local comics starting to 'pop.' This is your night to come see 12-15 of Atlanta's best comedians do their best 6-7 minutes at one of Atlanta's best performance venues. If you don't like the comic on stage, don't worry, they're almost done.

10. Open Streets Dekalb
Emory Village
September 20, 3-7pm
The circus is coming to the third annual Open Streets DeKalb at Emory Village. Expect high school bands, drummers, a bouncy house and water slide, a cappella and choral music, face painting, tasty treats from Village businesses, and more. New this year will be a giant climbing wall and a "Best in Show" dog contest. Neighbors, students and street performers will reclaim the streets between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. when North Decatur Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from the roundabout at the intersection of North Decatur and Oxford roads to Lullwater roundabout, and on north Oxford Road from the roundabout to Clifton Road.
Open Streets is free and open to the public.
