Get your baskets ready. Easter egg hunts will be held across metro Atlanta. Many are during the day and include games and meeting the Easter Bunny. A handful are at night and require flashlights.

Here’s a look at some springtime fun:

130 W. Paces Ferry Road N.W., Atlanta

10 a.m.-1 p.m. March 14. Free for members. Nonmembers: $6.50 adults; $5.50 children.

Toddlers and preschoolers celebrate springtime on the farm during the Atlanta History Center’s annual egg hunt. Join the search for colorful eggs hidden throughout Smith Family Farm to win prizes. Participate in fun and games like the peep toss, doing the bunny hop, and creating spring crafts. Hop on by and visit the Easter Bunny. For more information, call 404-814-4110.

The Acworth Egg Hunt at Night

Acworth Sports Complex-Baseball Fields, 4000 S. Main St., Acworth

7:30-9 p.m. March 18; families are recommended to arrive by 6:15 p.m. Free.

The Acworth Egg Hunt, a city-sponsored event, begins with the Easter Bunny parachuting into this event. And then the hunt for 50,000 eggs will begin. Before the hunt, you can enjoy face painting, balloon animals, inflatables, a photo booth and a petting zoo.

Bogan Park Community Recreation & Aquatic Center, 2723 N. Bogan Road, Buford

9 a.m. March 19. $15 per person.

Hunt for eggs under the water, then dry off and head to the community recreation center. Get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, enjoy a snack and make a craft. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied in the water by an adult 18 or over. Spots are limited, so register early. 7 p.m. March 19. Free for parents, who must accompany children; $6 per person for ages 2-12.

Experience the thrill of hunting for Easter eggs … in the dark! During the first half of this event, children will enjoy making themed crafts. Then the egg hunt for children ages 2-5 begins promptly at 8 p.m., ages 6-9 at 8:30 p.m. and ages 10-12 at 8:45 p.m. Be sure to bring your basket and a flashlight. Main Street N.W. and Railroad Avenue N.W., Lilburn

10 a.m. March 19. Free.

Visit the Easter Bunny and find eggs hidden in Lilburn City Park. The event begins at 10 a.m., with the egg hunt beginning promptly at 11 a.m. The Easter Egg Hunt is for children up to 12 years of age. Children will be divided into age categories, and there will be a separate area for children with special needs. Parents are not allowed on the field, except with the 0-3 years age group and the special needs group. Don’t forget to bring your basket.

7:30 p.m. March 19. Advance registration is $5 per family; it’s $10 per family at gate.

Children up to age 10 are encouraged to bring a flashlight and Easter basket for the hunt. Children will be divided into age groups. Youngest age group (children 5 and younger) will begin their hunt at 7:30 p.m. Children ages 6-10 get started at about 8 p.m.

Park Place at Newtown School (event lawn). 3125 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek

The Johns Creek Recreation & Parks Division offers programs and events to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. This popular event catering to special needs residents returns this year and will include games, food and photos with the Easter Bunny. All ages welcome. Avondale Estates Easter Egg Hunt

Lake Avondale, 59 Lakeshore Drive, Avondale Estates

10 a.m.-noon March 26. Free.

The city of Avondale Estates will once again host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Community Club at Lake Avondale. Children up to 10 years of age are welcome to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt, which starts promptly at 10 a.m. The hunt is divided into four sections based on age: 2 and under, 3-4 years, 5-7 years and 8-10 years. Bring your furry canine friend for the annual dog parade (costumes encouraged), happening at the same time as the Easter Egg Hunt.

10 a.m.-noon March 26. 980 Briarcliff Road N.E., Atlanta. Free for adults; children 12 and under $14 at the door cash only ($12 advance purchase online).

Kids bring their own baskets and scour the chromatic flora-lined grounds for plastic eggs packed with candy and the ever-elusive three golden prize eggs. Ages 3 and younger hit the grass at 11:15 a.m., ages 4-6 at 11:30 a.m. and ages 7-12 hunt at 11:45 a.m. Why should eggs get all the color? Face painters bedeck willing tots for $5 each. The latter get to meet and greet with the Easter Bunny, and roll up their sleeves for arts and crafts.

Eggstravaganza may sell out, and organizers suggest ordering tickets online in advance.

No event parking will be available at Callanwolde. Adults can find paid parking ($5) and free shuttle service at Emory University Briarcliff Campus.

Al Bishop Softball Complex, 1082 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta

6-8:30 p.m. March 26. Free.

Bring your flashlights to this egg hunt open to children up to 17. There will also be children's art activities, live entertainment, inflatables, Hula Hoop contest, tug-of-war contest, musical chairs, and food vendors. Park opens at 6 p.m. and first egg hunts begin at 7 p.m. with the little ones (3 and under). For more information, call 770-528-8875 or go to www.cobbcounty.org.

Camp Serenbe Easter Egg Hunt (40 minutes from Atlanta)

The Inn at Serenbe, 10950 Hutchesons Ferry Road, Chattahoochee Hills.

9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 26. $5 per child for Easter egg hunt. Other events require $1 activity tickets, and games require anywhere from one to five tickets.

This fun-filled event will feature fair rides, face painting, pony rides and of course Easter egg hunts for kids 12 and under on the lovely inn grounds at Serenbe. Enter the grounds beginning at 9:30 a.m., and kids will search for eggs at different times based on age, with children 2 and under starting at 10:30 a.m. Drinks and food will be provided by Serenbe’s Farmhouse restaurant.

425 Bobwhite Way, Newnan (one hour from Atlanta)

1-3:30 p.m. March 26. $3 per person for egg hunt, $3 for chalk contest, plus $5 parking fee.

Bring your baskets and camera; 1,000 candy- and prize-filled eggs and the Easter Bunny will be there. Age groups 0-4, 5-8, 9-12. After the hunt is the sidewalk chalk art contest. Chalk is provided. 210 S. Broad St., Winder (55 minutes from Atlanta)

7-8 p.m. March 26. $5 per person, plus $5 parking fee.

The park will host its first evening Easter egg hunt. Enjoy refreshments and a campfire while the kids search for hidden Easter eggs around the Turtle Creek Bike Trail. Preregistration recommended (call 770-867-3489). Meet at the tennis courts. http://gastateparks.org/FortYargo.

76 High Falls Park Drive, Jackson (50 minutes from Atlanta)

7-8:30 p.m. March 26. $5 per person, plus $5 parking fee.

The third annual Glow-n-Dark egg hunt at High Falls State Park will feature more than 4,000 glowing eggs that will fill the day use area. Join in before the hunt for carnival-style games and s'mores.
