May the Fourth be with you!
Star Wars Day is upon us. Time for Jedi’s and Stormtroopers alike to gather and honor the immortal sci-fi film series.
The fan-created holiday was first officially celebrated May 4, 2011, after a group of superfans gathered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for costume contests, web’s best tribute films and a “Star Wars” trivia competition.
Now, diehard fans across the world honor the day with festivals, cinema nights or just watching the “Return of the Jedi” for the millionth time.
For Atlanta Star Wars fans, there are a number of Force-full events to celebrate the holiday.
Here are four ways to celebrate Star Wars Day in Atlanta:

Geek out in the race that features custom-themed awards and awesome super tech race shirts. And would your Star Wars costume be welcome? Heck, yeah.

Star Wars Day May the 4th Be With You Trivia & Paint Nite
5-10 p.m., May 4
Paint n Brush The Creativity Cafe, 2005 Jonesboro Road, McDonough
You'll have the chance to pre-order themed-pieces for painting and highlight your knowledge a bit at this evening of Star Wars trivia.

Bar Wars: May the 4th
6-11 p.m., May 4

Diesel Filling Station, 870 North Highland Ave., Atlanta
The geek flag will fly high at this event geared towards every type of Star Wars fan — whether you're for the Empire or the Rebellion. The night will also include the Markster Con's infamous BAR WARS PUB CRAWL on May the 4th (Be With You). Join hundreds of your fellow galactic geeks to celebrate one of the most special days the Galaxy can offer.
9 a.m.-noon, May 4. 100 Vine St. NW, Atlanta
The Historic Westside Gardens, RCE Greater Atlanta Youth Network and PlantLanta will put their forces together to support local urban farming, health education, and access to sustainable high-quality low-cost produce on Star Wars Day. Volunteers will contribute to the growth of the farm by harvesting and planting organic fruits and vegetables, site cleanup, and seed sowing.
And if you can't get out at all but still want to feel the Force on May 4, pull out your light saber and cue up this full version of Jabba Flow from "The Force Awakens." It'll keep you in the spirit.
