This Atlanta exhibit is tackling social justice: 5 things to do this week

This is a perfect week to visit a local museum. Two of Atlanta’s most popular museums opened exhibits over the weekend, with their subjects ranging from Andy Warhol’s Pop Art to social justice.

Andy Warhol: Prints from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation

The High Museum’s newest exhibit on Andy Warhol opened over the weekend. Spanning four decades, more than 250 pieces from the collection of Jordan D. Schnitzer depicts Warhol’s work in printmaking.

Luba Lukova: Designing Justice 

Museum of Design Atlanta’s (MODA) summer exhibit will take a look at artist Luba Lukova’s poster art. Lukova’s work has been praised for its simplicity and commentary on social injustices.

Roswell native Russ will bring his blend of R&B and hip-hop to the Tabernacle this month. You might recognize the musician from his popular single “Losin Control.”

“How To Up Your Insta Game with ATL Bucket List”

ATL Bucket List grew their Instagram following to 100,000 users in two years. Founder Alyssa Fagien will lead a two-hour workshop this week, sharing tips for creating a content strategy on the visual platform.

The Avett Brothers

The Avett Brothers will perform three back-to-back shows at the Fox Theatre this month, although the last show is already sold-out. The band released their ninth studio album, “True Sadness,” in 2016.
