Sugarland rocks Alpharetta

Grammy-winning Sugarland performs Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta.

The band's in a bitter legal dispute with the band's founding member Kristen Hall over profits. Hall claims that she is owed more than $1.5 million for being denied her one-third share of the Sugarland partnership.

"American Idol" season 8, third-place finalist Danny Gokey opened the show with his song "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me."

Danny Gokey dedicated his opening performance at the Sugarland show to his late wife Sophia, who died four weeks before his audition for "American Idol" during routine surgery for congenital heart disease.

Karen Fairchild and Phillip Sweet of Little Big Town also opened the show, performing their latest hit, "Little White Church."

Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman sang their 2004 hit "Bring It On Home."

Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles sings the duo's Grammy-award winning song, "Stay."

Kristian Bush of Sugarland takes a moment to enjoy the spotlight.

Sugarland's lead singer Jennifer Nettles grew up in the small town of Douglas, Georgia. While attending Agnes Scott college in Decatur, she formed the band Soul Miner's Daughter.
