Summer officially starts on June 21, but the season of star sighting is already in full swing.
Jimmy Buffett, in Atlanta for a June 2 concert date at the Gwinnett Arena, dropped by Bistro Niko and the Buckhead Diner while he was here. Robert Downey Jr. had stopped by the Buckhead Diner just days ahead of Buffett's visit.
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and a group of band members, in town for Tuesday's concert at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field on the campus of Georgia Tech, dined at Bistro Niko Sunday night.
They arrived for a late dinner at about 9:30 p.m. and enjoyed duck confit, a charcuterie board and the signature skate wing entree. The table shared a bottle of Gevrey-Chambertin Burgundy. We’re told the robust security team accompanying the dinner group had moves like Jagger and acted swiftly to put the kibosh on any photo opps.
Michael Keaton is in Atlanta filming "The Founder," about McDonald's visionary Ray Kroc.
The star of Oscar-winning “Birdman” was at Turner Field on Friday night, sitting near the Pittsburgh Pirates’ dugout.
We're told that Pirates manager Clint Hurdle threw Keaton a ball that had been signed by Pirates pitcher A.J. Burnett.
“He was really gracious with fans as he was leaving, posing for pictures and signing autographs,” a Ted tipster reported.
We're guessing he was the one to foot the bill for any peanuts or Cracker Jack he enjoyed at the old ballgame, but if he visits the Snug in Canton, happy hour is on the house. "FREE DRINKS IF YOUR NAME IS MICHAEL KEATON," a banner hung outside the Cherokee County restaurant reads. Presumably they mean that Michael Keaton.
And Chris Evans, in Atlanta filming his title starring role in "Captain America: Civil War," is not only a fine actor but a good sport. He dined at Chops Lobster Bar last week, enjoying an 8-ounce filet with a steamed lobster tail.
Before his crime fighting resumed, Evans posed for a fun photo with some fellow diners and autographed a dollar bill for chef Ryan Delesandro — after customizing it a bit by tricking out George Washington with a superhero's helmet and cape.
