The lead singer of an up-and-coming Argentinian rock band died over the weekend after being electrocuted on stage.

According to multiple Spanish-language reports, Agustin Briolini, lead singer of the band Krebs, was doing a sound check prior to a show at Teatro del Sol in northern Argentina.

Officials are investigating what went wrong, but initial reports cited faulty wiring on his microphone as the cause of the electric shock.

The Daily Mail reports emergency responders spent an hour trying to revive Briolini and he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The band was touring to promote its first album. Pico Moyano, lead singer in fellow Argentinian band Iceberg, told Vivo that Krebs was rising band and had developed a large local following.
