Robin Thicke has been suprizingly quiet during the performance, if you can call it that, between him and Miley Cyrus at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards and some say we now know why.

The "Blurred Lines" singer, who has faced marijuana possession charges in the past, admitted to in a recent interview to spending aout $500,000 on pot over the years.  He called the drug his "crutch."

Thicke is blaiming his habit on a bad knee and says he can use so much because his friend runs a medical marijuana store.
