Colletta open at Avalon
Colletta Italian restaurant opened on Feb. 5 at Avalon in Alpharetta. The sister restaurant to Oak Steakhouse is the newest concept from Charleston-based the Indigo Road group. With an open kitchen helmed by chef Michael Perez, the menu features antipasti, pizza, pasta, and wood-fired entrees, plus four-course family style dining. Hi-Five Diner in Midtown
Taking over the former Villains space in Midtown, Hi-Five Diner opened on Feb. 9, serving breakfast all day, and lunch and dinner 11 a.m.-close. In addition to eggs, pancakes, burgers and sandwiches, find the likes of shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes and an all-you-can-eat cereal bar. Food & Wine Festival tickets
In its fifth year, the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival runs May 28-31, 2015 in Midtown, with tickets on sale Feb. 13 and early bird pricing through March 16. Billed as a "decadent weekend of Southern food and drink," the event features tents with culinary "trails," and three days of classes and events with Southern chefs and food and beverage experts. David Sweeney’s Vegan Wednesdays
Chef David Sweeney is back at Sound Table in the Old Fourth Ward, where he's offering an array of vegan dishes every Wednesday through Feb. 25. Sweeney, known for his former restaurant Dynamic Dish, has worked at Cakes & Ale in Decatur and presented a popular market-to-table series at Octane Grant Park.
