The career of rock legend Gregg Allman has spanned more than 45 years. He was a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, created in 1969. He was married to Cher in 1975, but she tried to dissolve the marriage days later. Their on-and-off again relationship ended in 1979. In 2007, Allman was diagnosed with hepatitis C, and had a liver transplant in 2010. The Allman Brothers Band was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 2012 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
