Paris Hilton: Spoiled or savvy?

Paris Hilton claims she's an original when it comes to the socialite business. How does her career stack up so far?

Is Paris Hilton the greatest socialite of them all? She seems to think so. In a recent AP interview, she scoffs at the likes of Kim Kardashian, saying that others just imitate her and proclaiming, "There is nothing like me." Let's take a look at what Paris Hilton has done with her life so far.

MODEL: Hilton started off as a model. She's seen here in 2003 with sister Nicky at at the Mercedes-Benz Shows LA fashion show. When Paris was 19, she signed with Donald Trump's modeling agency. She also did work for the Ford agency.

REALITY TV STAR: "The Simple Life," featuring Hilton and BFF at the time Nicole Richie, ran from 2003-2007 on the E! network. The show followed the girls around after they gave up their money, credit cards, and cell phones and take on odd jobs. They received Teen Choice Award nominations for their efforts.

SINGER: Hilton holds her debut CD titled "Paris," at an in-store signing event in New York in 2006. Critical reception was mixed, and sales were fairly low. She has released some new singles since then, but not a new album.

PERFUME DESIGNER: Hilton unveils her fragrance "CAN CAN Paris Hilton" inspired by the wild, wonderful world of Moulin Rouge in 2007.

AWARD PRESENTER: Paris Hilton has appeared on dozens of awards shows. Here she's seen with Nicole Richie as they present an award during the 2003 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

ATTRACTIVE MUG SHOT TAKER: Hilton has become quite a mug shot pro. This one was taken in 2007, as she turned herself in at the Lynwood Century Regional Detention Facility to serve time for violating her probation. Apparently, Hilton believes in taking advantage of any opportunity in front of a camera.

SURVIVED JAIL: In this photo, Hilton walks out of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., Tuesday June 26, 2007. She was released from jail after serving about three weeks for an alcohol-related reckless driving case. Naturally, she was not placed in the jail's general population but kept isolated for her safety.

INSPIRED HALLOWEEN COSTUMES: This Jailbird costume, featuring Paris Hilton's trademark phrase was a popular choice in the late 2000's.

PIMPED PROSECCO & POLAR BEARS: U.S. heiress Paris Hilton holds toy polar bear Knut, named after the polar bear in the Berlin Zoo, during a promotional event for a Prosecco company at a department store in Berlin. Things didn't work out so well for Knut; he died in 2011.

AUTHOR: Yes, apparently Paris can read, or at least write. She has penned (with the help of others) two books on how life is as an heiress. We hear there are a lot pictures.

TV GUEST APPEARANCES: Paris Hilton has made numerous special guest appearances on a variety of TV shows. Often, she portrays herself, as on this episode of "My Name is Earl."

MOVIE ACTRESS: Paris has appeared on the silver screen many times, though her reputation as an actress is more than a little tarnished. In fact, with three Razzies in 2008, Hilton tied the worst acting record set in 2007 by Eddie Murphy. Here she's seen in "Repo! The Genetic Opera," for which she won a Razzie for worst supporting actress.

DOG LOVER: Hilton loves her purse dogs. In one interview she claimed to own 17 miniature canines. She also has designed a pet clothing line.

MOTORCYCLE RACING TEAM OWNER: Vroom, vroom. Paris became part-owner of SuperMartx VIP, a motorcycle racing team in 2010. What does Paris know about racing? Who cares, she looks great in a uniform.

SHOE DESIGNER: Hilton displays her shoe models from her new collection during a news conference in Mexico City in 2011.
