Are you ready for the weekend?
There's plenty of fun to keep you busy.
There will be some serious eating going on at Cypress Street Pint and Plate as it hosts Nathan's Famous July Fourth International Hot Dog-Eating Contest qualifier.
The event will feature a 10-minute all-you-can-eat Nathan’s hot dog challenge and will pit local eaters against professionals, including Eric “Badlands” Booker, Adrian Morgan and Atlanta’s own Damien Boykin.
While attendees witness top performers put down an incredible amount of hot dogs for a chance to compete on July 4 at the Nathan’s Famous flagship in Coney Island, attendees will have a chance to devour specialty Nathan’s hot dogs, including the Bacon Wrapped Dog - served with teriyaki and pineapple salsa; the Sonoran Dog - served with black beans, fresh avocado, pico de gallo and lime crema; and the Muffuletta Dog - with provolone cheese, pepperoncini and olive tapenade.
Guests are encouraged to show up early to grab a front-row seat and a cold pint of Shmaltz Brewing Company's Coney Island Albino Python or Mermaid Pilsner on draught before the competitive action begins. Doors open at 11 a.m., the eaters do their thing at 1 p.m.
