The Variety Playhouse has changed hands, according to a published report.
Stomp and Stammer, the monthly music periodical (and website) has reported that a deal for the sale of the Atlanta venue has gone through.
Previously, owner Steve Harris confirmed an earlier Stomp and Stammer report that he was considering selling the Little Five Points landmark to Agon Sports and Entertainment, a holding company that also owns the Georgia Theatre in Athens and two minor league baseball teams.
The principals of the deal were not available for comment.
The music publication said Agon was to take ownership of the Variety Nov. 1.
The Variety Playhouse was a defunct movie theater 25 years ago when Harris leased the building and turned it into one of the most popular music venues in the city.
