Veteran R&B-funk party band Kool & the Gang, teen heartthrob Austin Mahone and classic power-pop-rockers Weezer will entertain Braves fans after a trio of games this season.
All concerts are free with a paid ticket to the game.
Kool & The Gang, now in its 35th year, will bring its vibe-y hits “Jungle Boogie,” “Fresh,” “Celebration” and “Ladies Night” to Turner Field after the May 3 game against the San Francisco Giants (first pitch is at 7:10 p.m.).
The band, which played a successful run opening for Van Halen on its 2012 tour, includes Robert “Kool” Bell on bass, Ronald Bell on saxophone, Dennis Thomas on alto saxophone and George Brown on drums.
On June 3, the puppyish pop star Mahone — who played a sold-out Tabernacle show in February and instigated ear-bleeding levels of screaming during his Jingle Ball set in December — will take the makeshift stage after the Braves play the Seattle Mariners (first pitch is at 7:10 p.m.).
Mahone, 17, has released the hits “What About Love” and “Banga! Banga!” while amassing almost 6 million Twitter followers.
And on Aug. 12, ironic rockers Weezer, who hit their stride in the mid-’90s with “The Blue Album” and “Pinkerton” (along with the hits “Buddy Holly” and “Undone — The Sweater Song”), will perform after the Braves vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers (first pitch is at 7:10 p.m.).
Weezer bounced back to platinum status in 2005 when “Beverly Hills” took over radio. The band, which played Music Midtown last fall, plans to release its 10th album this summer.
Fans can purchase tickets to all Braves games at www.braves.com/tickets or through all Ticketmaster outlets, the box office at Turner Field, the Braves Clubhouse Store at the CNN Center or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
