Johnny Gill reunited with former New Edition members Bobby Brown and Ralph Tresvant as The Heads of State perform at Wolf Creek Amphitheater on Friday. Gill originally joined New Edition to replace Bobby Brown. He brought a more mature sound to the group topping the charts with such hits as "Can You Stand The Rain", "N.E. Bobby Brown reunited with former New Edition members Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill as The Heads of State perform at Wolf Creek Amphitheater on Friday. Brown was the frontman of New Edition until he was kicked out for his misbehavior in 1987. His second album as a solo artist in 1988, "Don't Be Cruel," spawned hits such as his signature, "My Prerogative." His career on the wane for the last several years, Brown gained greater notoriety for his tumultuous marriage to pop superstar, the late Whitney Houston. (Akili-Casundria Ramsess/Special to the AJC)

Next up: A reunited Goodie Mob, featuring Cee Lo Green, . Goodie Mob's 1995 debut album "Soul Food, was certified gold, popularized Southern hip-hop and launched the phrase "dirty south" into mainstream culture. (Akili-Casundria Ramsess/Special to the AJC)

Cee Lo Green gets close to the crowd. In recent years, the singer, songwriter, and record producer, has gone on to other projects such as the duo Gnarls Barkley with record producer Danger Mouse and a judge on the television musical competition "The Voice."
