IN A somewhat macabre ceremony, officials of Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit buried two casket-like vaults filled with stuffed animals and other mementos dedicated to Michael Jackson.

THE 'GRAVE' has a headstone, just like a real grave. But Jackson's body is not buried there; his family is still deciding where to bury him.

THE VAULTS were filled with stuffed animals, toys and mementos, perhaps recalling Jackson's fascination with youthful innocence.

THE TOYS were collected from a makeshift memorial set up by fans at the Motown museum in Detroit. They were carried in hearses in a 'funeral' procession.

THE PROCESSION was made up of two hearses, police cars and seven other cars.

VAULTS ARE loaded for placement in the plots. The black and red memento in the left vault reads 'King of Pop.'

A BEAR wearing a sequined glove serves as a memento to the late Jackson.

THE HEARSES get ready for the procession to Woodlawn Cemetery.

ABOUT 40 fans gathered at the donated burial plot in Woodlawn, including Karen Tate and Lisy Henderson.

AFTER THE singer's death, fans (including Jackson impersonator Curtis Chapman, second left) gathered at the museum in Jackson's honor.
