Mandela foundation stages AIDS awareness concert

The activist holds concert to benefit 46664 foundation for AIDS relief.

Nelson Mandela and music fans marked World AIDS Day with a concert in Johannesburg to benefit his AIDS foundation called 46664.

46664 was Mandela's prisoner number when he was jailed for fighting apartheid. His personal number was 466, and he was jailed in 1964.

Chris "Ludacris" Bridges is one of the recipients of the Usher Raymond Altruism Award. The Trumpet Awards have generated nearly $4 million for charitable and educational causes.

Naomi Campbell is a 46664 ambassador.

Annie Lennox, who's known for her work to raise AIDS awareness, performs. She recorded a single on the first AIDS awareness benefit CD, 1990's "Red Hot and Blue."

English-born, South African-reared musician Johnny Clegg sings. Clegg was a musical pioneer for leading mixed-race musical groups and for incorporating political messages into his music.
