Kurt Vile & the Violators
A multi-instrumentalist proficient on guitar, banjo, keyboards and trumpet, Vile released his sixth studio album, “B’lieve I’m Goin Down … ,” last fall. The indie rocker from Philadelphia made dual appearances in Atlanta in 2013, at Terminal West and the Shaky Knees Festival, so fans are undoubtedly jazzed about his return.

Booker T. Jones
Best known as the frontman for Booker T. and the MG’s, the 71-year-old Memphis institution is still churning out his brand of R&B/blues. The four-time Grammy winner also has kept his music fresh by collaborating frequently, as he did in 2013 on Atlanta-bred Kelly Hogan’s “I Like to Keep Myself in Pain” release, and his own 10th album, “Sound the Alarm,” which featured guest shots from Anthony Hamilton, Estelle and Raphael Saadiq, among others.

Leon Bridges
The young soul singer was born in Atlanta but reared in Texas, where he honed his guitar skills at open-mic nights. His debut album, "Coming Home," arrived last summer and Bridges is part of the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis song "Kevin." As for what fans can expect from his live performance, Bridges said at the MusiCares benefit for Lionel Richie earlier this month that, "We're trying to grow as far as performance, so (the live show) will have a little more to it. We're going to add some more songs and think about transitions."

Rachel Platten
Her “Fight Song” was sort of the “Brave” or “Roar” of 2015 — which was fine with us for a few thousand spins – and the uplifting follow-up, “Stand By You,” achieved the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Adult Top 40. It’s always inspirational to see a talent who has toiled in the business for more than a decade finally break through.
