Music producer Jimmy Jam was recently elected chairman of the board of the Recording Academy, which stages the Grammys. A reception was held in his honor in Malibu, Calif. Jam, with his producing partner Terry Lewis, gained fame working with artists such as Janet Jackson, New Edition, Usher and Mariah Carey.
