Emmylou Harris performs Friday night at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Atlanta. This is the first "Concerts in the Garden" series this summer. Nearly 2,000 people filled in the garden.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 2, 1947, the daughter of Walter and Eugenia Harris grew up near Washington, D.C. As a college student in the late 60's, Emmylou Harris sang with a local folk duo and eventually moved to Greenwich Village.
