Coldplay is a British alternative rock band formed in London, England in 1998.

Sleepercar opened for Coldplay. They're an alternative country band from Texas.

Arguably the biggest band in the world, Coldplay has a knack for writing epic rock ballads such as "Yellow" and the Grammy award winning "Clocks" - that have become the soundtrack for a generation, says Coldplay's Web site.

Sure, the Coldplay sound is defined by the simple sing-along "Yellow" and the chiming, piano-driven "Clocks," but there's more to the band than just their hits, said New York Newsday in a recent review.

In concert the charismatic Chris Martin and his mates perform their hits with impressive musicality, says the band's Web site.

This was the first of two Coldplay shows in Atlanta. The next one is Nov. 11.
