MTV's Video Music Awards have earned a reputation for being wild and crazy. Let's take a look back at Britney Spears' most memorable VMA moments.

1999: Back when Britney was a virgin, a VMA virgin, she returned to the schoolhouse with "(Hit Me) Baby One More Time." The set was complete with lockers, desks and lots of schoolboys (and girls). Did we mention that she also introduced 'N Sync?

2000: Knowing Britney like we do, everyone had to be a little surprised when she came out in a full suit and performed a racy version of the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction."

But that buttoned-up look didn't last. In a moment that was fortuitous, Britney stripped ...

... to reveal a flesh-colored, jewel-encrusted bodysuit for "Oops, I Did It Again."

2001: So how do you top the strip show? How about by dancing with an albino python? A caged tiger was also on stage for Britney's debut of "I'm a Slave 4 U." Welcome to the jungle indeed.

2002: Britney skipped the performance, opting to introduce Michael Jackson on his birthday. But by saying she considered him to be the "artist of the millennium," it opened a can of worms no one could have anticipated. Instead of thanking everyone for their birthday wishes, the King of Pop instead expressed his gratitude for the big, if imaginary, honor.

2003: If you ask anyone about the most memorable moment ever at the VMAs, he's likely to say "the kiss." What he's referring to is when Britney Spears and Madonna locked lips during their performance of the Material Girl classic "Like a Virgin." For the record, Madonna also smooched Christina Aguilera, but no one seems to remember that part.

2007: Britney's comeback was memorable for all the wrong reasons. She wasn't in the shape she once was, but that didn't stop her from wearing another revealing outfit. She seemed to sleepwalk through the song, at one point forgetting the lyrics, even if she was lip syncing. By the end, no one was asking her to "Gimme More."
