Allman Brothers Band returns to Piedmont Park

The Allman Brothers Band returns to Piedmont Park, where it first played in 1969.

One reviewer said Duane Allman's ever-higher-and-higher notes during a riff sounded as if his music was soaring through the roof.

Duane Allman became a rock guitar legend during his short, tragic life.

Formed by Duane and Gregg Allman in the late 1960s, the Allman Brothers Band became one of the most influential and popular American rock bands despite personal turmoil and tragedy. Original members: "Jaimoe" Johanson, Berry Oakley, Duane Allman, Butch Trucks, Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
