Nominees for the 2011 American Music Awards.

British soul singer and songwriter Adele was nominated for artist of the year, favorite female artist, favorite adult contemporary artist and favorite album for "21." The 39th annual American Music Awards will be aired live on ABC on Nov. 20 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Rapper Lil Wayne fetched three nominations: artist of the year, favorite rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for "Tha Carter IV."

This is the second year in a row that Katy Perry is up for artist of the year. She also is nominated for female artist of the year and favorite adult contemporary artist.

Taylor Swift is nominated for artist of the year, favorite female country artist and favorite country album for "Speak Now."

Atlanta's Zac Brown Band is nominated in the favorite country band, duo or group category along with Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry.

Rihanna is vying for Soul/R&B album and Rock album with "Loud." She also is nominated for favorite Soul/R&B female artist.

Bruno Mars fetched two nominations: favorite male adult contemporary artist and favorite male pop artist.

Nicki Minaj garnered nominations for favorite rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for "Pink Friday."

Jennifer Lopez is nominated for favorite Latin artist.

Chris Brown is nominated for favorite soul/R&B male artist and favorite soul/R&B album for "F.A.M.E."

Beyonce is up against her Destiny's Child sister Kelly Rowland and Rihanna for favorite female soul/R&B artist.

Teen sensation Justin Bieber is nominated for favorite male pop artist.

Miranda Lambert is nominated - along with Sara Evans and Taylor Swift - for favorite female country artist.

Lambert's husband Blake Shelton is nominated for favorite male country artist with Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley.

Usher is nominated for favorite soul/R&B male artist.

Adam Levine and Maroon 5 are nominated for favorite pop band, duo or group.

Trey Songz is nominated in the favorite male soul/R&B male artist category.

Electro hop duo LMFAO are nominated for favorite pop band, duo or group.

Hip-hop artist Pitbull is nominated in the favorite male pop artist and favorite Latin music artist categories.

Jason Aldean is nominated for favorite country music album for "My Kinda Party." Also nominated are Taylor Swift and The Band Perry for "The Band Perry."
