2009 Academy of Country Music Awards show

The 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards were presented in Las Vegas. Jamey Johnson was among the big winners.

Country music legend and actress Reba McEntire served as host for the awards show.

Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. The Atlanta group won best vocal duo.

Kenny Chesney performs. Chesney was nominated for four ACMs.

Taylor Swift waves to the crowd as she takes the stage. She performed her hit "Picture to Burn." She won album of the year and the Crystal Milestone award.

Carrie Underwood, who won Entertainer of the Year, performs "I Told You So" -- and she had, saying she'd be wearing 'a lot of dress.' The dress had been kept secret.

Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt presents Jamey Johnson with the song of the year award. Johnson beat out veterans George Strait and Brad Paisley for that award.

Heidi Newfield performs at the ACM Awards show. The former Trick Pony singer was nominated for five awards.

'Dancing with the Stars' professional dancer Julianne Hough is now an official country music star. She accepts the ACM award for top new female vocalist.

Toby Keith performs "God Love Her."

Singer and actress Miley Cyrus performs "The Climb."

Rascal Flatts accepts the award for top vocal group. From left are Jay DeMarcus, Joe Don Rooney and Gary LeVox.

Jamey Johnson performs his award-winning "Living in Color."

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx introduces country music legend George Strait.

George Strait performs. Strait was nominated for a leading six ACMs, along with Brad Paisley.

Blake Shelton performs "She Wouldn't Be Gone."

Lady Antebellum, which includes two members from Georgia, performs.

Keith Urban performs "Kiss a Girl." Accompanying him to the ACMs was his famous wife, actress Nicole Kidman.

LeAnn Rimes accepts the Home Depot Humanitarian award.

Trace Adkins, center, performs "Til The Last Shot's Fired."

Miranda Lambert performs.

Lee Ann Womack performs.

Eddie Montgomery, left, and Troy Gentry, of Montgomery Gentry, perform.

During her performance, Taylor Swift is joined on stage by illusionist David Copperfield.
