Spurlock, who gained more than 20 pounds by eating nothing but McDonald's food for a month in his 2004 film "Super Size Me," paid the city $25,000 to rename itself after his movie to underscore its message.

Documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, wearing a suit with sponsors names stitched onto it, unveils signs changing the name of Altoona, Pa. to "POM Wonderful: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.", Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in , Pa. Spurlock donated $25,000 to the city to rename itself so he could make a movie of the same name that lampoons the proliferation of advertising. The sign is in front of a Sheetz store, one of the major sponsors of the film.

The name change is ceremonial, meaning people won't have to address mail using the movie's title. The film was in the can before the naming rights deal was approved earlier this month by city council. The money is going to the police department.

Spurlock, left, hands a ceremonial check to Altoona Mayor William Schirf. "We live in a place and a time when it seems like everything is brought to you by some sponsor," Spurlock told The Associated Press. "It starts to become this question of, 'Where does it end?'"
