65th annual Cannes Film Festival kicks off with premiere of "Moonrise Kingdom" Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Cannes, southern France.

Among the 22 films in competition, there's a particularly large American contingent, starting with the opening night film, Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom."

The movie about adolescent love on the run brings a few new actors, including Bruce Willis, into Anderson's carefully orchestrated world.

"Moonrise Kingdom" star Edward Norton takes his turn at the podium before the movie debut at Cannes.

Comedian Bill Murray made light of the photo call dancing around the podium.
