Movies Rock event showcases film music

Combination movies tribute and music show with various artists.

Celebrities abandoned their Christmas shopping for a night during "Movies Rock," the salute to movies and music that took place in Hollywood. A very pregnant Jennifer Lopez, who opened and closed the show, greets Kate Hudson backstage. Hands off, blondie. It's rude to touch the baby bump.

Eve was among the night's performers, singing the theme from "Shaft."

Eve sings the "Shaft" theme with Busta Rhymes, will.i.am and LL Cool J. The show will be broadcast on CBS Dec. 7.

Usher sings "Singin' in the Rain." The event was held in the Kodak Theater, which is best known as home to the Academy Awards.

Beyonce sings "Somewhere over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz." The concert/tribute is a production of Conde Nast, the publishing company who also puts on "Fashion Rocks."

After singing the James Bond movie theme "Live and Let Die," Fergie received a standing ovation. In fact, producers said the audience got to its feet 10 times that night.

Tony Bennett sings "White Christmas" from the movie of the same name.

Carrie Underwood sings "The Sound of Music."

Queen Latifah sings "Big Spender" from "Sweet Charity."

Jennifer Hudson sings "Somewhere" from "West Side Story."

Chris Brown performs "Jailhouse Rock."

John Legend and Mary J. Blige perform "As Times Goes By" from "Casablanca."

J.Lo dances backstage with Fergie.

Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls performs "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend."

Kate Hudson gets some stage time.

Jenna Fischer of "The Office" and John C. Reilly engage in some movie talk.
