The weekend is so close.

If you’re looking for an extra boost of energy to get through the rest of the work week, we have you covered.

Plan your weekend by taking a look at five fun events that are taking place in metro Atlanta this month.

Whether you’re looking to view art for free or take in a concert, you have some pretty good options to choose from.

Shaky Beats Festival

Shaky Beats isn’t just a great festival for EDM lovers. From rapper Nas to singer Tory Lanez and pop-leaning electronic band Years & Years and AlunaGeorge, this year’s festival soundtrack has a wide appeal.

Grab your friends, your favorite glow-in-the-dark gear and a beer (or two, or three), before enjoying this three-day festival in Centennial Olympic Park.

Porter Robinson and Chromeo are among the festival’s live performers.

If You Go: 4 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. May 20-22. Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Park Ave. West, Atlanta.Shakybeatsfestival.com.

Luke Bryan

Georgia native and country star Luke Bryan will return to his home state for a concert full of his hits.

You might not be able to get a catfish dinner at the singer’s Lakewood Amphitheatre show on May 20, but you’ll probably still have an awesome night.

The singer was recently nominated in two Billboard Music Awards categories, including “top country artist.”

If You Go: 7 p.m. May 20-21. Lakewood Amphitheatre, 2002 Lakewood Ave., Atlanta. Lukebryan.com.

Canton Festival of the Arts

One of the last festivals on the AJC's list of "can't-miss spring festivals" to occur, the Canton Festival of the Arts takes place this weekend in Historic Downtown Canton. More than 75 artists with work in various mediums will exhibit their art during the two-day festival, and children will get to participate in interactive art activities such as mural painting, dance and more. Indulge in food and wine, while enjoying live entertainment at the local festival.

If You Go: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 21-22. Free. Historic Downtown Canton, 94 North St., Canton. cherokeearts.org/festival.

High Museum of Art’s “Block Party”

Enjoy High Museum of Art exhibits Vik Muniz, Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks and I See a Story: The Art of Eric Carle before heading outside and indulging in tasty eats from food trucks during the museum’s Block Party. Kids can get their faces painted, receive a caricature and participate in arts and craft during the five-hour party.

This event is free with admission into the museum.

If You Go: noon-5 p.m. May 22. Free (with museum admission). High Museum of Art, 1280 Peachtree St., Atlanta. high.org.

Dine at Bombay Brasserie

The owner of Indian restaurants Café Bombay and Masti opened a new restaurant in Roswell this week. Bombay Brasserie will serve "traditional Indian dishes," and also offer meals inspired by Chinese, European and American cuisines, according to AJC's Yvonne Zusel.

Lunch and dinner are served seven days a week.
